The Homestead is a red brick Edwardian house which is over 100 years old and is situated halfway between West Bay and the Market town of Bridport. We are approximately half a mile from the quaint Harbour resort of West Bay.

We have a lovely garden and there are beautiful views over to West Bay and Eype. We are a small family Care Home registered for 13 Elderly people and personally supervise the care.

The lounge has spectacular views and is light and airy with high ceilings and original features, an ideal room for all of our activities. We have a beautiful Springer Spaniel called Bertie for all to enjoy.

The dining room has a "quiet" seated area where one can read or receive guests. This room has recently been totally refurbished to ensure a pleasant "Dining experience." All food is fresh, locally sourced, cooked by Benjamin our chef. We pride ourselves on producing high quality, nutritiously balanced meals. Our efforts have been rewarded by receiving 5 stars from Environmental Health for food safety. We are members of the National Association of Care Caterers, which ensures we are up to date on nutritional requirements for the elderly; be they medical, religious or ethical reasons.

There are four rooms on the ground floor, and eight on the first floor, accessed by stair lift if needed. There is one double en-suite and the rest are single (4 being en-suite) all rooms are adjacent to assisted bathrooms. All bedrooms and bathrooms have call systems to summons help as needed.

The bedrooms are light and most boast beautiful views. They are fully furnished, new residents are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms.

The garden is very popular in the summer months with beautiful views. The residents enjoy cream teas, and just whiling away the time reading or watching the world go by. The more energetic can be seen playing badminton or boules on the lower lawn.

We have regular outings to local beauty spots - never having to go far because of our outstanding beautiful location.

We have a dedicated well trained team of staff. Most having worked at the home for many years. Quality Assurance showing a high level of satisfaction amongst the group, attributed to a continuous learning culture and supportive management leading to good staff retention.
